I love this author with my entire being, and once again, I fell in love with another one of her books. It's so upsetting for me to see the number of people saying that this book is bad just because they're reading it after the Bridgertons. I understand reading more of an author's works after you fall in love with one of their series, but you cannot trash the book simply because it isn't the same as the one you read before. A great author writes in multiple different styles, and that's why people love them: you never know what you're going to get. This book has characters that you can relate to, a main character who leaves you laughing long after you're done with the book, and a plot that keeps you interested. Many reviews said that the book was boring because the females didn't do things that women today do, but that's the point. It's a HISTORICAL romance. To hate on a book simply because you didn't know what you were getting into, is like being mad that the pasta you ordered has mushrooms in it when it was clearly stated on the menu.
