The Floating Girls
by Lo Patrick
Ugh, Kay. While I understand she is the family after thought and desperately seeking parental attention -- she is a whiny, annoying main character. The descriptions of Georgia and the setting are beautifully written. The most interesting writing happens during the last 60 pages. It almost felt rushed and all the "fill-in" details thrown together to wrap it up. Would not recommend this to fans of Where the Crawdad Sings -- it would be a disappointment.
