Christmas Kisses: A Regency Holiday Romance Anthology by Suzanna Medeiros, Alanna Lucas, Alina K. Field, Cheryl Bolen, Barbara Monajem, Lana Williams, Collette Cameron, Samantha Grace, Heather Boyd, Sasha Cottman

3.0

Christmas Kisses is a regency romance anthology edited by Cheryl Bolen and featuring a host of authors from within the genre. I like reading these books at Christmas for a number of reasons. The first is that they are simply easy to read over such a busy month. The second is that I like the opportunity to test out some new authors which I haven't read from, or perhaps even know about. As with all short story anthologies, it is always going to be a mixed bag. The stories all manage to complement one another, and stay true to the theme of the anthology, without feeling too repetitive. That is always important in an anthology, especially one like this where you may argue that the scope is more limited due to the nature of it. To be fair to this one, I didn't read any absolutely terrible stories. The first 60% of the book was very average, but pleasant enough to read. I enjoyed the final 40% of the book a lot more, and those stories got four stars. My favourite story is probably the final one, which leaves the anthology in a favourable position in my mind. That said, the anthology, as a whole, levels out at a three-star read overall.
