Ain't He Precious? by Juliette Poe, Sawyer Bennett

4.0

Ain’t He Precious? was just what the doctor ordered. Stressed out with the coming holiday, I needed to get away even if it was just in my mind. And that’s what I did. Juliette Poe took me on vacation to a small Southern town full of charm and personality. All that was missing was the sweet tea and fried chicken. This was the perfect second chance romance—sweet, sexy and funny without a whole lot of drama. I’m in love.

Trixie Mancinkus is sweet, sassy and Southern as they come. She’s content to tackle the legal problems in her hometown. It’s not until she needs the help of an old classmate that she begins to look back on the decisions she’s made to get there. Ryland Powers is successful, smart and witty. And more than willing to come to help Trixie out. The chemistry and connection between these two are intense. It was easy to see that even though eleven years had passed, they both hadn’t let go of the other. Both characters are wonderfully developed and complex. They each had strengths, weaknesses, and insecurities. The secondary characters were charming and added great depth to the story. This was definitely a case of wanting to step into a book and just stay awhile.

Poe delivered a feel good second chance romance that gives you the warm fuzzies without a whole lot of over-the-top drama. This book is definitely low on the angst scale, high on the smiles. If you like sweet love stories that’ll make you swoon, definitely one-click this one today. I cannot wait for the next one.
