genuinely pointless but whatever. it's been a year since i read this series on a whim, mainly because i was getting back into reading, didn't have a library card yet, and didn't want to spend money on books, so i was reading basically anything that came my way without bothering to consider reading to my tastes. i still think the writing is infuriatingly talk-down-y (like seriously, cassie, i CAN think for myself) and it is harder to suspend my disbelief for this YA series considering everything i read this year. still, there will always be a soft spot in my heart for YA with a woman lead because... wellll... it's just sort of fun! even when i'm groaning over how little is left up to interpretation and how unbelievable the plots can be, i am usually having fun. this whole series is utterly ridiculous, but that's part of the draw.
