Reckless by Cornelia Funke

2.0

Reckless is a story of love, bravery, and fear. It's filled with mythical creatures and fairy tale references. The only problem is the complete and utter lack of world-building that takes place. Within the first 3 pages you are thrust into this fantastic world with absolutely no lifeline. It goes from being in modern day New York to the world behind the mirror with no explanation other than how you get there.

I wish I could like this book, but considering that I felt lost after the lack of information in the start and the ending told me more or less what to expect from the second book, I feel no reason to read the rest of this series.
