Once I convinced myself to completely suspend my disbelief that Mitch McDeere went from where he was at the end of The Firm to where he is at the beginning of The Exchange, I thought I could enjoy it. Alas, no. The people are hard to keep track of and the entire book is just going around to different people/agencies/governments to ask for money to get the hostage back. And then - what a ripoff- you don’t even find out who took the hostage at the end! The Firm was so good and this “sequel” ruined it. Grisham should have just let The Firm be as it was. :(
