Fake Fiancée
by Ilsa Madden-Mills
4.5 Meant for Each Other Stars!!
“It wasn’t his looks that tugged at my heart. Not really. It was him–his innate charm that made me want to strangle him one second and then hug him the next. And I knew why. We had never been strangers. Not even from the very beginning.”
“I was walking a tightrope with emotions, and at any moment I was going to fall and break into a million pieces.”
“Time heals all wounds, but the scars remain, making you who you are. To me, hers were a beautiful mosaic. I admired her more because of them…because she’d come out of the darkness and learned how to fly.”
Sexy football players, fate and a fake relationship. What else could you possibly ask for? I can’t help but fall in love with these types of stories. In fact, I am a big fan of fake relationships/fake fiancee troupe. They are the stories that I just can’t help but just eat up and devour. And Ilsa Madden-Mills does not disappoint with her take on this troupe.
Fake Fiancee follows the story of Max and Sunny and is told from dual points of view. From the moment we meet Max and Sunny, they have an intense connection that neither one of them can understand. It is a chemistry that they both try to fight and deny. Max has the world at his feet and could have any woman that he wanted. However, his main focus and passion is football. When it’s football season, nothing else exists to him except for the game. And his game has never been more important than it is right now. His eye is on the prize and he will do any and everything to get it….Sunny’s life has been anything but sunshine and roses. She’s been dealt a tough hand and just wants to finish college and live the life she’s always wanted. The last thing she expected was for Max to crash into her life. He challenges her in ways she never expected. And even though her heart knows better, she can’t say no to Max when he asks her to be his fake everything….
I couldn’t help but devour Fake Fiancee. This story was a lot of fun and just an overall great book to spend an afternoon getting lost in. This story was incredibly well written and entertaining. I fell in love with the characters almost instantly and couldn’t wait to see how their stories would shape up. Max and Sunny won me over right away. There was just something about the two of them that pulled me in. They begged me to read the story that they had to tell and before I knew it I had completely devoured their story. The chemistry between these two was instant and the type that I just can’t get enough of. I loved all the hints of fate and destiny. And I just loved watching these two fall in love.
Fake Fiancee was a great read, from beginning to end. It had just the right amount of drama, steam and romance. I loved everything about this book and really enjoyed getting lost in these characters.
