I was so intrigued be this book that my bedtime moved back for the duration of the read. This is a story of identity, of a woman with no name, no friends & no family who attains all of these & not one person is left unchanged by her.
Her sole purpose is to record information. Humanity has been forced out of her by painful reprimands. She is content in her purpose until she does one thing she's not supposed to, she interfered. Not willing to report the deaths of people she could save, Recorder proved her humanity and made some friends because of it.
The book ends and Recorder still does not have a name & we don't know if her life will be taken because of her deviation from her purpose. This is a beautiful story & since it is midnight, I will start book 2 tomorrow.
There is no sex or coarse language. There is a pregnancy out of wedlock. There is death & dying.
