After reading "Th Forty Rules of Love" by Elif Shafak, I decided to go back to the beginning and start this book over. And I'm glad I did. The historical and social background helped me understand and appreciate this collection a lot more. So, I'd recommend reading a little bit about Rumi before you dive into this one.
