The Serpent in Heaven by Charlaine Harris

3.0

I was hoping to enjoy another adventure with Lisbeth, maybe coming to help out at some point in the story. I was disappointed and sadly mistaken as the book focuses on what happens during Felicia’s early time at the grigori school and her budding relationship with Peter.

The central plot was ok but I found it too spread out in the book. Finding out more about her maternal relations was good, with their status in their locality.
I liked the discovery of her powers and how her friendship with Felix develops as her tutor.

I am not interested in reading about ‘teenager drama’ such as she had with her roommate or her romance and then fights with Peter.

The lack of Lisbeth and Eli made for a slightly dull read for me. I will continue with this series if a new book is released, however more books like this one will sadly drive me away. I just hope this is setting up something major for Lisbeth.
