Beach Read by Emily Henry
3.0
I think I can come to the conclusion that Emily Henry's books are not for me... This was probably my favourite of the three, but I still didn't love it. Personally, I found Book Lovers to be very dull and I couldn't even finish People We Meet on Vacation.
Beach read follows two authors, Gus and January, who are both experiencing writer's block. Since they will be neighbours for three months, they decide to strike a deal: They will both attempt to write the others genre of book. Long story short, January usually writes happy romance books, and Gus writes the exact opposite, so they switch.
I didn't seem to connect with the plotline or characters... The mention of cheating in the book also rubbed me the wrong way. And in addition to that, one of the plotlines reminded me of something that happened in my own life and it made me want to throw this book across the room *not in a good way*
3/5 stars
