Breach of Peace by Daniel B. Greene
3.0
dark medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: N/A

I guess this was okay.  I don't have strong feelings towards it and I don't feel particularly eager to see more of the world but at the same time, This wasn't a bad reading experience. I was actually drawn into the murder mystery but I guess the length of the book didn't help much with how invested I was.

The characters are interesting but I felt like I didn't know them enough to care much. I still found the dynamics to be done really well and established convincingly. But by the end of the book,  I'm not sure what's the point of introducing them at all. I may be wrong though.

I love mysteries and this one was gripping from the first chapter. The book starts with a bang and finishes with another and I appreciate how the mystery was tied into a larger narrative within this fantasy world which I'm still a little confused by.

Anyway, This was a quick read to me. I actually think 3 stars is a generous rating now that I'm putting my thoughts into words but Let's roll with it, I was gripped and curious and the story wasn't boring at all. The characters were different and they had different approaches and views and some of the moments were done effectively. Even though, The pacing wasn't consistent and the ending feels like a slap to the face, I think this is promising. Wether I'll continue on or not, It depends if I still think the same or not months from now
