Spoiler filled summary: 

A couple (Tricia and Ethan) come to view a house during a snow storm, the realtor, Judy, doesn't show and they end up finding the spare key hidden outside to wait for the realtor while the snow storm raged on outside. They realize they had broken into Dr. Adrienne Hale's office who was a psychiatrist that had gone missing a few years before. They don't believe the realtor was ever there and they do not have service. Weird things happen in the middle of the night such as Dr. Hale's portrait where her eyes follow you getting hung back on the wall after Ethan had taken it down because of how creepy it was. Dr. Hale was blackmailed into taking EJ (initials) back as a client, he had a video of her popping someone's tire. Tricia's only known Ethan for a year and they've been married for 6 months. Friends believe he's a red flag with no family or friends. Dr. Hale is a little bit of a manipulator, she convinced Luke to agree to break into EJ's house to hack into his computer and delete the video he was blackmailing her with - this might have wrecked their relationship. Dr. Hale asks Luke to move in and EJ threatens to kill her all in the same night for breaking in and deleting the video. Ethan and Tricia find Dr. Hale's body stuffed in a crawl space. EJ had a back up video and now has blackmail on Luke, too. EJ wants Dr. Hale sexually now, he no longer wants oxy or money. Big plot twist! Tricia's full name is Patricia and was hired by Dr. Hale to murder EJ, but she had murdered her fiance Cody after finding out he cheated on her. Tricia has antisocial personality disorder. EJ is NOT Ethan. Tricia killed 6 people - her Whitney, Cody, Alexis, Megan, her grandma, and Dr. Hale. Tricia planned the night of the blizzard on purpose so she could find the body that Dr. Hale killed so it wouldn't connect back to her. Ethan's mom was one of the patients seen by Dr. Hale who was paranoid that Ethan would kill her for the money. At the end Tricia told Ethan everything from all the murders she committed to her being a previous patient and being blackmailed. Ethan helped her take care of the two bodies. It ends with Tricia implying she would be willing to kill him if it came down to it as two can keep a secret if one of them is dead.

 

My thoughts: 

I honestly thought Tricia was an ANNOYING character until I found out who she really was and the big secret surrounding her actually being a killer of MANY. It made me like Tricia and feel as though she was less of a damsel in distress and more of a WOLF who can hold her own. She's very calculated and honestly very interesting now that I know the truth.
