Webster City by Peter Menadue

5.0

What a great read!

In the middle of the 21st century almost the entire world population was wiped out by a plague. Except for a group of people who had been vaccinated. Their leader was Alexander Webster and they went on to build a new city, Webster City, an ark of humanity. Three hundred years later things aren't going so well and the city, run like a mix between Soviet Russia, North Korea and communist China, is threatened by outlaws and those who want freedom.

In the midst of this, Major Carl Davidson, agent of the ISB (Internal Security Bureau), begins to question his life.

This is a surprising read and very captivating. Highly recommended.
