'Salem's Lot by Stephen King

4.0

So this was technically the first King book that I started but the second one I finished. I’ll admit, this one took me a while to finish merely due to some of the phrasing and methodology of speaking. But when I finally hit my stride, I wolfed it down like Thanksgiving dinner.

This is the first book by King I ever picked up, and the plot was everything I hoped for. The title gave me the idea that it was about witches and Salem, MA, but I was far far FAR off base. But shockingly-I am 100% okay with that.

Granted, I’ve found myself shying away with books that have a similar type of antagonist, BUT this was the original and as such, I’m glad I gave it a fair shake.

This is why King is as famous, respected, and Belford as he is-because of books like Salem’s Lot.
