Wanderlust by Lauren Blakely

5.0

I am huge Lauren Blakely fan, but this book by far has moved into my favorite. Blakely took me on a trip to Paris, one that is so visual and so romantic, I am not sure that the actuality of going there would ever live up to the expectation! Joy has come to Paris to start her life fresh. Paris is giving her the chance to promote her career and now with Griffin start a path to romance...Griffin is such an interesting character, both charming and good looking. But that is not what Joy has fallen for. These two characters have such depth and realism, it is easy to get caught up in their romance, and try and nudge them to stay together! The locations around Paris that we get to see, from the coffee/tea shop, chocolate, angels, pink doors and caricature artists we get a good look at what most tourists don't get to witness. With these excursions, I know, I was feeling the love and chemistry these to had. But with Griffin's wanderlust and previously made promises and Joy's opportunities, would their relationship survive? What a trip we get to go on, one that everyone should take and enjoy!

With a book like this, narration is key, and accents need to be spot-on. The choice of Grace Grant and Richard Armitage is brilliant. Armitage is the incredible as Griffin, and let him do his French accent any day. It is perfection. Grace Grant is always wonderful and these two together are complimentary of each other making this listen one of the best I have heard.
