This book follows Margot Bradley, an embittered romance author. You see, Margot doesn't believe in romantic fairytales for anybody. She takes her belief as far as rewriting the endings to her books on a separate document, she thinks no one will ever see. However, when her document is hacked, Margot loses her publishing deal and her readers. To remedy this situation, Margot's sister Savannah books Margot a six-week stay in a remote Alaskan resort to pen her first murder mystery. Once in Alaska, Margot feels she is living her romance story as she falls for Forrest Wakefield.
Forrest Wakefield is a Cancer researcher who left his job to become a caretaker for his ailing father. Forrest loves solving puzzles, so being at the resort with nothing to solve is making him antsy. However, when Margot shows up, she seems to be the puzzle for him to solve. As the pair grows closer, they’ll each have to learn to overcome their fears and set aside assumptions before Margot leaves—or risk losing each other.
Overall, this book was okay. The synopsis was better than the book. The book's pace was a slow burn, and it contains too much sexual content.
