All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir

3.75

This…was heavy. Especially for a YA (which is necessary, because real teenagers do experience these things). But it was one shitty deal after another for Sal and Noor. All My Rage is one of those books you want to be over as soon as possible - not because it’s a “bad book,” but so the characters can’t be hurt anymore. You want their (hopefully) happy ending to come quickly.

I know you can find trigger warnings on Storygraph, but I’m reposting some of the major here because, again, it can be a lot at times: racism, islamophobia, physical abuse (of a child), sexual abuse (of a child), death of a parent, alcoholism, and drug abuse/overdose - to name a few. Every single one of the adults here failed these kids, many times over. The system failed them.

It’s an important story, but not an easy one.
