 Kinda meh.

I liked the writing, the focus on Penelope, and the way I think the customs of the time were showed in a realistic way (wich isn't much since I don't know the customs of the time). I wanted to read something related to the Odyssey because of Epic, and this book scratched the itch. But it doesn't stand alone, as it's own story - there's a great deal about how Penelope cried and suffered a lot, or being jealous of Helen, or walking around in the Asphodels, but it's not really a retelling neither add much to the story. The thing with the maids is not what I've thought either, and it doesn't add much to the story. I kinda liked the weird vibes and to read something closer to the Odyssey, but if I wasn''t looking for something like this specifically it wouldn't have been a nice reading
