The Mountain Man's Muse
by Frankie Love
Hmmm... What Just Happened?
Overall, I'd say that I liked this story. Sure, Ryder has a LOT to learn about how to treat a woman, especially the one who has taken his name. Signing him up for a Miss Manners class or some sensitivity training wouldn't be out of line but once Rose realizes what's afoot, she does a decent job of taking him to task.
Ryder's rude behaviors aside, I am troubled by the last chapter. The story went from zero to 200mph and back in the blink of an eye. Of course, I expected some drama beyond the trials of a new relationship but I didn't expect it all to start and end in a couple of quick pages.
Ignoring the last chapter, it was a good read with a cute and fitting epilogue. As usual for a Frankie Love novella, things also got steamy in the bedroom and beyond and there's plenty of chemistry to support it.
