The Ministry for the Future by Kim Stanley Robinson

4.0

We have jumped off of a cliff, and need to design a parachute from scratch before we hit the ground.
KSR wrote a novel that provides a blueprint for solutions that deal with nearly every aspect of the climate crisis, and because this takes place so near our reality, it doesn’t read like fiction. But the pessimist in me thinks that humanity is too selfish to embrace the communal solutions that he outlines (at least most of them). If a country were to embrace these solutions and lead humanity towards a habitable, more equitable, and sustainable way of life, it certainly won’t be this one.
Not a perfect novel, but important and highly recommended.
