I went into this book with a reasonable amount of expectations since it is so well loved in all online book communitys, but, unfortunately, I was desapointed.
I loved Evelyn and Harry, they were truly lovable and well written characters and their friendship is, in my opinion, the driving force of the narrative. All their scenes together made me really fell something.
The book also brings in some heavy themes that were talked about with responsability and nuance. Never using them for shock value.
However, everything else was kinda mid. Just another story about the secret lifes of famous rich people.
I didn't really care about any of the secondary characters other then in a superficial level. I didn't care about Monique's part of the story at all. Nor did I care about the revelation in the and about why Evelyn chose Monique to write her biography. And, worst of all, I didn't like Celia, so her relationship with Evelyn didn't hold any heat for me. And that is a problem since their relationship is central to the plot.
It isn't a bad book, but it definitely isn't the amazing masterpiece that everybody says it is.
