I re-read this book because I was going to watch the entire trilogy of movies. I must say I loved the book, but was not impressed from about halfway through Desolation of Smaug and all of Battle of the Five Armies. Considering the actual battle only took about 20 pages of the story. I love the way J.R.R. Tolkien wrote this book, especially considering he intended this to be for children.
