Actually phenomenal. Vandermeer’s writing has such a visceral and intimate quality to it, while still maintaining enough distance to build a kind of tense anticipation. This book may even top the first one imo, the way it builds and feeds itself to you as you read; immovable from its course and horrifying to watch inching closer.
