A Killing of Angels by Kate Rhodes
3.0

Not quite as enjoyable as the first in the series, which I rated 4 stars, this was still engaging. I felt exhausted by reading about Alice dealing with her brother, her mother, her friend Lola, her patient, her job, the cops, the new case, the old case, etc. It all seemed overwhelming. Maybe it's being overwhelmed that made her make some poor judgement calls, the sort I didn't notice her making in the first book.

The romance subplot
Spoilerwith Andrew felt false and tacked on for plot twisty purposes. At one point, I suspected him - which I gather was intended - and then felt like a fool for falling for that gimmick. Frankly, Andrew is what keeps this from being a 4 star for me.
