War Storm by Victoria Aveyard

3.0

As the Red Queen series comes to an end, Mare and the rest of the Scarlet Guard plot to take down Maven’s reign. Cal and his splinter factions try to make their argument, by voice and by force, that Maven’s rule is the worst case scenario for allies and enemies alike.

Highlights for me were the downright Shakespearian dialogues between warring factions and the constant re-scheming and betrayals. Definitely made for engaging reading. But overall, this just didn’t do it for me. There were too many battle scenes. The ending came too quickly. I felt like a lot of new concepts were brought into this last book, but were left unresolved.

Maybe it’s intentional, to leave room for more books. If so, I guess I’m okay with it. But just okay.
