The Importance of Being Alice by Katie MacAlister

3.0

I generally like Katie MacAlister's books. I have yet to read one that I didn't like...until now, sort of. It kept me interested for the most part, although at times was a bit goofy (which is fine). What I really did not like and have never ever come across before was the fact she wrote in two different POV's. Alice was written in the first person POV, while Elliot was written in the third person POV. I'm sorry to say that this drove me nuts! I am not particularly a fan of first person POV, although I will read books with it. And have read a number of books that do it quite well and I enjoyed reading the book. So while I'm not a fan of it, I can handle it and will read it. I've read The Corset Diaries, by Katie MacAlister that was in first person POV and I enjoyed that book. But, please, do not go back and forth between first and third. Pick one and stick with it. That is really my main issue with this book. Besides that, the story was fun and cute. A typical book I expect from her. I guess next time I will have to open the book and inspect first before I buy. I really don't want to read two different POV's like that again. But if you don't mind that, then pick it up for a nice easy, fun read.
