a week away on holiday with a fucked up family. pretty slow paced, but Mark Haddon has a beautiful and poetic way of describing the mundane aspects of everyday life. i love how every character has their fatal flaw; no one in this book is perfect and everyone is trying to find themselves. i found myself most relating to the 8 year olds point of view. only downside i will say is the narration is a bit harring at first and i had to reread the first 30 pages to gain comprehension, i was so confused. overall, a good read that doesn't leave you in the fetal position crying afterwards.
