Cute story and fun plot, but the dialogue was really unnatural feeling and not-in-a-good-way cheesy to me and the main relationship felt underdeveloped. Also felt very juvenile in places, so I kept feeling like I was reading about high schoolers and not adults. Also, I could not wrap my mind around the fact that being dumped by a high school boyfriend led Emmy to abandon her family, hometown, best friend, and magical abilities. So the whole book felt built on a shaky premise to me. Still a fun read.
