What the hell did I just read?
I am SO confused and honestly quite mad, 'cause my expectations were high for this book.
For a book that is supposed to be an homage to storytelling, fables and myths, it really lacked the fluidity of a good storytelling!!!
Right in the beginning the worldbuilding is a bit all over the place, but my cuiosity was still there, some of the stories were quite beautiful (I especially appreciated the one in the Inn with the Moon), but the plot never really develops, the author keeps throwing creatures, elements and symbolism at us without it actually going somewhere!! It's just very messy. The character arcs are very flat and the inter-related stories lose their meaning and become too overwhelming.
I'll need a while to be able to hear the words key, bee, sword, door, heart, owl, time, fate without them making me cringe...
