I have a strong bias towards Anne Rice's vampire books because I read the bulk of them when I was young. I never got around to this one or Vittorio, however. I knew of the character, Pandora, because she features in the main line of Vampire Chronicles books, but I enjoyed this as more of a political intrigue/historical fiction book. I almost would have rather the story have followed the character as she navigates rebuilding her life in the ancient Near East, on the run from Rome, and not included the supernatural elements. That being said, it is a still good addition to the mythology that Rice built.
