This is the first I've read from Moriah Chavis. She's been a finalist at Realm Makers 3x and it shows in her beautiful prose. Though this is just a short story with a well loved trope, Thorn of Winter has lovable character and some interesting twists and turns. It is delightful from start to finish. 
I did receive a free copy for an honest review... yada yada yada.
