This is a gripping story that will grip you tighter and tighter as it progresses... I didn't realize a book could be so fast-paced and jam packed. I thought the magic was fascinating and I loved the abstract, cosmic elements. The story escalates fast, with a shocking dark turn. I didn't believe the people who said it could get crazier... I was wrong. I understand the historical significance and reading this book has compelled me to read more about the historical events that influenced R.F. Kuang to write this novel.
