Heartbreak For Hire
by Sonia Hartl
More 1.5 actually
What started as an interesting premise quickly became repetitive and pointless. Also, the depiction of academia is just wrong in so many ways. I really hate when authors choose to a setting they don't know well. All of the errors kept taking me out of the story. That Northwestern's hiring process would be so speedy... that hiring this guy would hinge on the publication of one article??? And what's with all the double majors in psychology and anthropology at the doctoral level. Is that a thing? I doubt it. And how are these people switching so easily from one to another?
