I’m a bit confused on how i feel about this book.
It’s said to be a dark romance, and while there are all the elements of a dark romance - captivity, sexual slavery, organized crime, undercover cop goes bad etc. it felt like the author wanted to have that dark romance but was almost afraid to just go all in.
It’s a short read - 250ish pages but it was actually hard for me to get through. It would get to places where i thought we would actually get that dark romance element but it would reel it back in.
Our MMC was more of a undercover golden retriever trying too hard to be a bad boy than anything else.
My other issue with this book was the lack of editing. There was more than 20 instances in my hardcover, sprayed edges copy from the author directly that was missing words in sentences, added not needed words and lots of misspelling. This doesn’t usually bother me but in such a short book it felt like there was constant mistakes and no editing done.
