I've been saying Itachi is one of the best characters in all of fiction for many years. But damn. Reading his legendary plot twist from his perspective nearly broke me. I was in a real gloomy state.
I had teary eyes twice: once at the death of a certain character, another time when Itachi was doing...THAT thing. If you know, you know.
We know Itachi attacked many people (as a ninja), so having some answers given to us as to how he did it to even some significant people in his acquaintance was really... it gave me some form of closure knowing how he did it. What he felt. How his targets reacted.
Everything.
I especially loved the Izumi (his 'lover') scene. Couldn't have done it much better!
It's such a big concept to know how the key event towards the end went down, yet many Naruto fans never will because they don't read these light novels - So it's mindblowing to me to have such vital information go under the radar like this.
A final, ranting P.S.:
-Satisfied with such a compelling fleshing out of Shisui - He's has a surprising dark tale to go with his top dog energy. Officially love him.
-Perked up at the Kakashi cameos.
-Itachi running into a certain character from the main manga series and feeling all these parallels between them just tugged at my heartstrings.
-I was so here for the lil vengeance part Itachi was able to undertake for a certain someone.
-Danzo's a bitch as always.
-I have developed a surprising hatred for the beloved Third Hokage (I mean HOW could you let this happen! Talk to Fugaku, free the people you've allowed to stay enslaved to a corner of the village. Fk what other Hokage have ordered in the past - Regardless of whether he was right/wrong, Tobirama did what he did under different times & circumstances of war, which you are no longer under. Obviously the oppressed would want to revolt, no matter whether they lose their morality along the way. & HOW did you keep letting someone like Danzo get his way when you were suspicious AND then again let him get away with his wrongdoings with a slap on the wrist. Can see why he did it with Orochimaru too - Hiruzen's always been negligent in serving justice & consequently letting bad things befall others).
