Overall I found it to be a good read. Even when I told myself it would be the last chapter of the reading session I always found myself peeking at the next chapter ready for more—which is a good sign to me.
I felt like Amanda’s struggles with if she still wanted to teach and her relationship issues were a little incomplete, but that could be because I came into the series mid-way.
My main issue with the story was the portrayal of Adam. He went from being a potentially troubled kid to a person suffering a psychotic break and I just didn’t find that believable or a fair portrayal. I felt it would have been a stronger story to have Amanda’s concerns be well founded but not to the extreme they went.
