An atmospheric story, it feels as if it's covered by stardust; as if it has a weird yellowish or sepia filter over it. At least that's how I pictured it when I was listening to the narration of it.
It's filled with magic (DUH!) but it's also creepy in a way. Isn't the unknown, that which cannot be scientifically explained, a little scary after all?
The story plays between what is real and what is imagined. Keeps you on your toes, so much that you start questioning your sense of perception.
You start wondering whether you trust the narrator or not.
And at the end, it personally left me with a question:
Do I want to be like Gip's dad? The adult figure of the story who's more skeptical? Or do I want to be like Gip and sprinkle my life with a little bit of childlike wonder?
