Rebel Skies by Ann Sei Lin

Death, violence
Rebel Skies is a promising and unique debut that will leave you wanting more.
I adored this book. It was unique in so many ways. The world was so different from any other books and it was so enjoyable.
Being the first in a series, Rebel Skies contains a lot of world building but keeps it light and focuses a lot more on the plot while still allowing the reader to understand what is happening.
Kurara and Haru seem to have a relationship similar to that of a sibling bond so it's no surprise that they go on this "adventure" together.
Himura, on the other hand, always seems a little 'dodgy' to me. I don't know if it's just the way he's written or if it's just me being picky about characters. (It's likely the latter
