Obsidian Feathers by N. Cáceres

This book puts the DARK in dark romance. It's very violent, but also very spicy! I loved the inclusion of South American religions and culture, the beautiful Nahuatl language, and the themes of self-discovery and hidden strength. It lost one star for me because the book desperately needed a copyeditor, and I skipped one chapter that was basically just Sal getting ready to go to battle that was completely unnecessary for the story. So maybe it needed some developmental editing, too, although not much. If you like dark romance, I recommend this book! It's very different from the other dark romances I've read, in a good way. I'll definitely read the sequels when they drop!
