The Bad Boy Rule
by Maren Moore
4.5/5 stars
This book follows a good girl and bad boy who begin to fake date to annoy her parents. This is my first book by Moore and it won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the storyline of this book especially as I always dig for a hockey romance. The pacing was great for this book, and I enjoyed the New Orleans setting. The author focused perfectly on the two conflicts, one for each MC so that the story is not overwhelming. I loved the healing process and the growth throughout this book. This book is told from both Lennon and Saint’s pov.
Lennon has been pleasing her parents for so long and now she wants to follow her path. I loved her character and seeing how brave she is. Especially with parents who don’t care for her personally but for her reputation. Then we have bad boy, Saint, who is heads over heels once he gets close to Lennon. However, he faces his abusive dad at home. I loved his character and seeing him love. Both of these characters grew so much. There are many side characters but the MCs had their spotlight. The romance is good girl x bad boy, enemies to lovers and fake dating. It’s steamy and so cute.
Now for the ending, I have to say that it felt rushed and that it ended abruptly. It just felt that there should have been more. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I am excited to read the next book in this series.
