Little Bee
by Chris Cleave
This was a good read, I really liked Little Bee as a narrator, the characters were well-developed and the writing was excellent. He really developed the themes in the book and I enjoyed "hunting" for them.
I was really nervous to read what actually happened to them on the beach, the suspense was palpable--I stopped and put the book down several times trying to get to that pivotal point. That only happened with one other book for me--The Road by Cormac McCarthy. However, I thought the second half of the novel lost it's steam and was not as gripping as the beginning of the book.
I would recommend it, although not with the huge hype that got me to read it. It's a good book, lots to think about, but not so astounding that I would give it 5 stars.
