Steam alert! This. book. was. hot. 🥵 Mona and Max had CHEMISTRY and their scenes were 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Also, if you loved Elle and Shane from Maneater you will be thrilled to follow their son, Max, in his own story.
Here’s what we get:
• 💚Dual POV
• 💚Part succubus/part witch
• 💚Both going through intense emotional changes when we meet them:
○ ❤️🩹Max is healing from mysterious event, and he’s ashamed of his succubus nature and tries to lock that part of him away
○ ❤️🩹Mona is trying to be social and wants to dig herself out of depression; she’s hard on herself and is used to putting herself down before anyone else can do so 😢
• Ghost pupper 🐶
• Dirty talk 🔥
I loved when Max and Mona were able to let themselves be open and vulnerable with each other. A lot of their conflict is themselves getting in their own way and letting the inner negative voices win, which is something I relate to more often than not.
This book is definitely darker than Maneater, and I wish that I got more of Max and Mona together on page. They did spend a good amount of time apart working through their struggles, which is a positive, but selfishly I want more of the couple together 🥰. There are a lot of side characters in this book, so I hope that we get to spend more time with them in future books.
Definitely recommend if you are wanting a super steamy paranormal romance with a side of thriller and suspense. And we get to spend some time with Elle and Shane which I ADORED.
Thank you to Emily Antoinette for the ARC! My thoughts/opinions are my own and my review is voluntary.
