Didn’t wow me as much as Cleo & Frank, but I still enjoyed this moving portrait of grief, addiction, and sisterhood. The depth and unbreakable strength of the sibling relationships were what really moved me - it captured a lot of the deep love I feel for my own sister. I think if I were to reread this if (the powers that be forbid) my sister passed away before me, this book would absolutely crush me. Coco Mellors is adept at crafting believable characters, though I wish Bonnie was slightly more fleshed out. As an older sister I definitely felt called out by some of Avery’s flaws and thought patterns lol but this is the beauty of literature! Will still definitely read whatever Coco Mellors writes in the future.
Graphic: Death, Grief
Moderate: Alcoholism, Drug abuse
