If you like messed up, dark romances that blur boundaries and contain dubious consent with a dash of gratuitous murder, you might enjoy this. Otherwise, move along.
I really enjoyed this; blew through it in two days. The plot was good, the smut was great, and the couple of twists thrown in were enjoyable.
What I did not enjoy was the bastardization of the tattoo industry. I may be biased because I'm a tattooer. If you're going to fetishize an industry like this, at least do the bare minimum research. It's not a tattoo "gun," it's a machine. You don't wipe down a fresh tattoo with an alcohol wipe. You're not touching anything with used gloves, like a phone?! Gross! Health department would shut you down SO quick. If you're supposedly one of the best artists in one of the biggest cities in the country, you're not booking a tattoo at a consult for the next day, you're booking them months out, and you're sure as hell not discussing your sex life in detail with the involved coworker in front of your clients. Maybe you're doing this if you're working at an illegitimate scratcher shop, but if you're working at a place like that you're not going to be "one of the best." You're not going to go back in on a SCABBED???!!! tattoo a week into healing, and your clients aren't going to have their tattoos wrapped for weeks. I could go on.
TLDR: I enjoyed everything except the tattoo bits. Those took a couple years off my lifespan, I think.
