Fearing the Black Body: The Racial Origins of Fat Phobia by Sabrina Strings

challenging informative slow-paced

4.5

This book was a denser read and took me a little bit to really get into but once I got my rhythm I found it to be super interesting.  A really great in depth look at how racism contributed to cultures obsession with being thin.  She gives an in depth look at this from an art history perspective as well as looking at the development of using BMI to measure health.
