Black Like Me by John Howard Griffin
4.0

I'm not sure how to feel about this book. I have mixed feelings. While I think this book was a very good read, there were several things that bothered me.

1. While infiltrating the black community as a "black man" I did not like how he kept including himself. The phrases like "us negros" seemed forced at the least. A few hours, days, or weeks does not make you black. I cringed every time I heard this phrase (I listened to the audible version).

2. It seemed at times certain behavior was being excused for ignorance. Toward the end of the book he spoke of how white people didn't think they were doing anything wrong so to speak. If this were true then while try to hide what was going on? Besides ignorance is never an excuse.

There were other things I did not particular like but those were the main 2 thing that come to mind. Overall it was an interesting reading I do recommend it to others.
