MECH. SUIT. JOUSTING. IN. SPACE.

What an incredibly unique and intriguing setting. I admittedly am a fan of the Transformer and Pacific Rim movies, so I had to give this book a try. While the premise is certainly attention-grabbing (and the first-edition hardcover is gorgeous for fellow book dragons like myself), I thought this book fell short of it's potential. While not outright bad, I did not think the book was particularly well-written, either. The jousting scenes were fun, and I'm all for a rage-y FMC, but at 75% of the way through the book, I found myself wishing she would at least see reason on some occasions, or that her personality would evolve a bit more.
