One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake
4.0

When I first read this book in 2017, I absolutely loved it, 5 stars and all.

2022 reread: I'm amazed (and kind of not surprised) by how much I entirely forgot about what happens in this book. The first book [b:Three Dark Crowns|28374007|Three Dark Crowns (Three Dark Crowns, #1)|Kendare Blake|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1469265712l/28374007._SY75_.jpg|42750582] was really memorable, especially rereading it five years later; the cliffhanger could never be forgotten.

However, One Dark Throne, as much as I enjoyed this reread, it definitely felt like I was reading it for the first time because I had no recollection of character growth, plot development, or any details (aside from characters being imprisoned and something to do with the sea).

This sequel is a rollercoaster and very emotional. My heart grew three sizes with Billy and Arisone's slow-building romance, but I couldn't find myself believing that Mirabella and Jules are all respectable towards one another now. Overall, I was quickly sucked into the story once again, and now I'm off to read the following books.

2017: 5 Stars
2022: 4 Stars because it wasn't as memorable as I imagined, but just as equally thrilling.
